Winner: at Aspect design attracts attention

Close Up, the high-end sports magazine published by Aspect Media, has again been shortlisted for Most Effective Magazine in the Retail category of the coveted APA awards - continuing the title’s string of award successes.
Close Up has been winning awards every year since it was launched in 2006.

Aspect’s team ensured Close Up won Consumer Magazine of the Year category in the 2008 Independent Publisher Awards.

Published on behalf of Ladbrokes, Close Up is a sports magazine conceived and launched by Aspect Media to inform and engage Ladbrokes’s 40,000 highest staking customers.
Since the first issue Close Up has delivered fantastic return on investment for the client, empowering customers to stake bets in new sports as well as significantly increase their investments.
All this has been acheived through outstanding content, using the best and brightest sports editors, writers and commentators, coupled with a critically acclaimed design courtesy of Aspect’s design team led by Art Director Joel O’Connor.
At Aspect we believe design attracts attention, while words generate response and this was born out by one of the judges reviewing Close Up’s entry for this year’s CiB awards, who stated: “The cover image has perfectly weighted impact.
“The contents too, are engaging and enticing… designed like those of a truly commercial magazine…
“There’s plenty of imaginative design, but the thing that strikes me about this publication is there’s nothing to criticise.
“In a class where the standard is extremely high, Close Up takes on all comers with total confidence.”
